Apple Cider Donuts
There’s nothing more classic than a batch of apple cider donuts to cozy up your home as the temperatures outside begin to drop. This recipe brings together the quintessential flavors of fall, with the apple & cinnamon. The best part is coating each one with cinnamon sugar!

While this recipe is for a cake donut, don’t be afraid to find a fried donut recipe online to try out as well! The only difference is that you will make a dough instead of a batter, and so will cut out your shapes before frying (as shown). This cake donut recipe on the other hand is simple and a familiar process to most since it resembles the process for baking something like cupcakes. The result is deliciousness! So no need to roll, cut, and fry here!

1/3 cup vegetable oil
3 eggs
1 1/4 cup granulated sugar
1 cup applesauce
1/4 cup boiled cider (if no cider on hand, than can substitute with 6 more tablespoons of applesauce)
1 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
1 tsp cinnamon
1 tsp salt
1 1/2 baking powder
2 cups all-purpose flour
3 tablespoons cinnamon sugar

Preheat oven to 350°F.
Grease the donut pan.
Combine oil, eggs, sugar, applesauce, boiled cider, vanilla, cinnamon, salt, baking powder, and flour until smooth.
Fill each well of the donut pan with the batter.
Bake for 17 minutes until baked through.
Let donuts sit for about 5 minutes.
Fill a gallon-sized ziplock bag with the cinnamon sugar.
While donuts are still warm, place 1-2 in the bag at a time and shake to coat well.
